Been looking at tractors for about a year. Mostly used. Wanted something in the 25-30hp range. Need one to work around a small piece of property with horses.

The prices for used quality tractors in Florida are high. Most common tractors around here are Kubotas or John Deeres and asking at least $7,000.00 or more for late 1980's models unless their wore out. My wife and I went to a Kioti dealer this weekend to just check them out as there are not too many around.

Looked at a DS3520 geared model with a FEL. Cash price is a little over $14K. While that was more than we had oringinally wanted to pay, the financing plans make this a possible purchase. The 4 year warranty really makes this an attractive tractor.

Can anyone that have dealt with this brand of tractor let me know how their experinces with warranty issues have been handled and how your tractor have performed.

Thank you

Smoke56,
While I'm a Kioti DK40SE HST owner, I looked long and hard at the Kubotas. They & Deere have a great support system and network. Like you (in your post), I couldn't stomach the huge cost difference but when I started comparing all the features of what was standard equipment and "optional" equipment with the others.....I came back to Kioti. First thing.....you need to drive it.....and your wife too! Test out some of the other brands as well so you have a legitimate comparison. I was sold on the ergonomics of the DK line.....twin hydro pedals, and the seat actually goes up at an angle and drops my knees down (I'm 6'3.5") so that mattered to me! The warranty is bumper-bumper for 1st 2yrs and then powertrain the last 2yrs, FEL is only 1yr. I would check out your dealer to see how long they've been in business, etc. as a good dealer is always a plus. I'm in the middle b/w 2 dealers (39 miles and 41 miles) so I'm in good shape there. May of '14 is my 4 yr anniversary and I'm sitting at 327hrs so far and the only warranty item that I've had done was the paint was bad on my loader and the dealer took care of that under warranty @ the 50 hr service (I had him do the first service). I've done all the other service so far. I love my DK....all the brands are top quality and all may have issues so I wouldn't be worried too much about the brand you pick.

How do you plan on using it? Will you do a lot of loader work? If so, you may want to consider a hydrostat drive.....but that is merely a thought. If you plan to lift a lot or heavy items, you may want to bump up to the DS4140 verson as you get a loader w/ 2,700lbs of capacity (at the pins) vs. 1,100lbs of capacity (at the pins). Again, depending on how you plan to use it, this could be a very important factor. I was looking at the DK35 and b/c of the lifting capacity I stepped up to the DK40 and larger capacity. This was my best decision. Case in point, I was given a 330 gallon fuel tank w/ about 85 gallons of fuel in it. It was loaded in my truck w/ a JD 790. Bless the little JD's heart, it barely lifted it to get it in the truck.....I actually had to back under it. When I took it out w/ my DK, it was one of those moments that reassured me of my decision to goto the DK40/bigger loader.

That's kind of my story and experiences.....hope it helps some? Either way, I don't think you'll be disappointed w/ a Kioti.

Best wishes......oh, one last thing.....we like pictures so when you bring it (or something else) home, you gotta show us!!

Could not be happier with my DS3510, though I am in the minority who wanted a gear tractor! No warranty issues, so cannot help you out there. I will say it is a no frills tractor, which is what I wanted. There are no cupholders, electronics, fancy foot platform etc. If you want a powerful, all manual tractor that is very well priced this is it!

I have had my Kioti DK35se for about 1 3/4 years. it has about 210 hours on it so far. I have done all of the service myself. Kioti's are good tractors, as are most of the common brands. My DK35se is on the "luxury" side with many comfort and convenience features. I have owned 2 Kubota 1 New Holland, and 1 Long tractor over a period of about 22 years. I am sure the Kioti you are looking at would serve you well.

On another note, I don't know if you would be interested in Jeffs tractor or not, but one of our members has a nice tractor for sale, it is a Kubota 33 horse machine with Hydrostatic drive.

I used to have a DS3510. Nice tractor, but for my needs, did not have enough FEL lift power. I suggest
that you actually sit on one and drive it. The platform is a little cramped for someone who wears 3X but
doable. The bolts on the left foot platform, the outer one is a pain when trying to get off. I removed it
and then reinstalled it when I traded it in for the DS4510. Spent 11 hours in 3 days brush hogging for
my brothers when they had me trailer it up to NY. The fields were about 4 to 5 ft high. No problems. Does well with a 5 ft. brush hog. I
do recommend getting the tires loaded with Rim Guard or get a Counter Balance Box or something as I
have lifted the rear wheels a couple of times. My fault. trying to overdo what the FEL is rated for....
Sounds like a good match for your property. Like I said, try it out before signing on the dotted line.
It is a well built tractor and wish I kept it for some stable work I took on after trading it it. It is a much
better sized unit for that...

Good luck
Tom

Kioti is a great machine, with a lot of value over Kubota. And this is from a Kioti and Kubota Owner.
Not sure about your machine as I have no experience with it. I got 10 more HP with Kioti for same price.
Hope this helps.
