looking at a 4710
200 hours, 2002 model

what should I be watching for in evaluating this machine?

what should i be thinking as a fair price (no attachments?)

I am planning on putting a backhoe and a front-end loader and a 60 or 72" deck

thanks for the help

I think you can go online and create a pricing configuration
of a new 4710. Then you can compare what a new one
costs compared to what the dealer wants for the one
with 200 hours on it. I bought my 790 in 1999
for $12k and traded it in 2003 for a 4310. The dealer
gave me $10.5K in trade in and then put it on his lot
at $9600. It had 113 hours on it. It sat on his lot
from April 2003 until March 2004. I don't know what
he ended up selling it for but the purchaser bought
a mid mount mower deck and loader for it so I am
certain a package was a "sweeter deal"
My Deere dealer is a small dealer. The biggest tractor
they sell is in the 50-60 hp range. On new items
they are slightly higher priced than the "BIG" Deere
dealer on up the road a few miles. However, my
dealer gives me 10% off on all parts and everyone treats
me like a friend. They will order parts/accessories
for me over the phone without me paying for them in advance. That way I don't have to make two trips to the dealer which is 20 miles away.
