Hi,
I put a deposit on a 1996 JD 755 tractor, & was wondering if the price is fair. 270hrs, 60" belly mower,FEL, 5' back blade, front weights, 4x4, hrdrostatic, trailer hitch adaptor, plus 3 diesel fuel containers. I'm paying $8,500, it's from a homeowner who sold his house & is moving into a subdivision.
He bought it new & cut about 2 acres.
Does this sound fair?
Thanks for all your replys. /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

Sure sounds good to me...
I'd still offer less...8 Thousand, maybe if you've got the cash on hand.

Sure is a low amount of hours. That only averages .74 hours a week. My 335 cutting 3 acres has 232 hours after 2 years 11 months which is 1.54 hours. If that is true must be in great shape!

I think that is a great deal and go for it. The age is 7 years but with realatively low hours you can't go wrong. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

That's a good price for the 755. You might want to update your profile and let folks know what part of the country you are from. Prices vary widely in different parts of the country/world.

I have a JD 1996 855 that I bought (14 months ago) with 275 hours, a few attachments (no mid mower though) , etc. I paid $12,000. I have been more than satisfied with the tractor - starts right up every time, runs like a deer /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif and I've never felt lacking in power yet. Jump on it it's a great machine.

The very first question has to be "Will this machine do what I want?" If it will, then it's just a matter of comparing prices in the market. There's a 1996 John Deere 755 w/ 60" MMM, turf tires and 1213 hours advertised for $8900 at a Deere dealer in Vandalia, IL. There's another one with ag tires and a hydro and 1500 hours in Perrysburg, Iowa listed at $7950.

Neither of these have a FEL which I'd value at a minimum of $2000 on your machine (or course, I really consider them invaluable). Add to that the back blade, weights, etc., and I think your deal sounds real good next to these. Of course, I can't see any of the three from here. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I think if it'll do what you want and you don't buy it you'll regret it when you look further in the marketplace. /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif It'll always be "the one that got away" for you. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
