The Tructor looks interesting. Have you actually seen one? Can you compare it with the Toolcat?

Very interesting. I've always thought of the 5600 as a glorified S150/763, knowing full well that it *could* lift up to 3,000 pounds, but thinking that anything over 1,500 would crush the suspension or frame or both if attempted. [Edit: that is, Bobcat keeps on insisting the rated capacity of the Toolcat is 1,500 and the total -- bed, lift arm, and towing -- maximum capacity is 4,200... so I assumed that anything more, and the 5600 would, well, fail.)

Thanks for the links as well! More reading material...

( ( I, too, would recommend a Toolcat or A300 for this job... both price tags may be steep, but I think the AWS feature is well-worth the extra expenditure.
Brian -- can the 5600 really lift 2,000 pounds on pallets! That's pretty incredible... )

BobcatS250, yup, the Toolcat can do some lifting! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gifA and B series Toolcats can lift 2,000+ pounds to 48" while the new C series Toolcats with a different lift arm and curl mechanism can lift 2,000+ pound pallets over 60" high. The ROC is still 1500 pounds at full lift height of 84" and the rated tipping load is 3,000 pounds without any ballast in the dump bed or rear.

That 2,000+ pounds on pallets off 5-ft. flatbeds was what they designed the new C series to do with ease to make the Toolcat even more versatile. And they made the joystick movement for lifting pallets and keeping them level even easier for inexperienced operators on the C series (plus bucket assisted leveling, etc.).

I've lifted some heavy pallets with my B series Toolcat, and also huge old telephone/utility poles with large circumferences and some length to them with my root rake brush grapple. In this How much load have you tried? thread in the TBN Toolcat forum , there's info about someone moving more than 2,000#s of shingles on pallets with the forks, and that was with a 2003 A series Toolcat!

And that four-wheel steering, the various Work and drive modes available, comfortable cab with operator and passenger seats, quick entry & exit, easy controls and bed to hold large sand spreader give Toolcats the edge in dealing with snow, ice and Winter! /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif )

You still want to choose the best tool for the job. If you constantly all day have 2,000+ pound loads to lift high, get something more capable. /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif But the stronger lift arm on the C-series Toolcat does open more possibilities (esp. lifting less than five ft. off ground), the load ratings appear conservative, and its suspension and frame are over-engineered. Still, stay reasonably close to rated limits if you want longer machine life! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

those tool cats are pretty cool. but i don't feel like it is needed in our application. I'm looking for something to move loads of snow from point A to point B and stack it as high as possible. I don't think that the versa handler is needed either but it is very cool.
I think either a good skid steer or a compact wheel loader.

Dose anybody know if i could get a cab and heat in a Kubota R420S/R520S and dose anyone know about what the prices are on these two machines.

I'm really looking for a dedicated snow hauler. That can also be used to unload pallets. Cause every once and awhile we'll have something large delivered and it will be a problem getting it off the truck and we don't have enough stuff delivered to have a forklift.

if u r buying new they r around $22,000.00 give or take a few thousand, now would be the time to buy u would get a better deal. i have a rental store and we just sold 2 bobcat 773 most customers like our case's better, the bobcats were jerkie. when u r buying new they r all pretty close u would need to see about parts how is the dealer. did u think about a telescopic lift, u can get a bucket and forks. we use this sometimes to remove snow when we need to move it a long distance from the bank.

hi ctc1111

stick to the skid, and look at how close your dealer is then if they have good service look at cat & case too. i had 2 bobcats 5 case's in my rental fleet most people liked the case because the controls were smoother, but the bobcat had more power.
do u need your arm controls inside? do u need vertical lift? ask your dealer this.
did u consider getting a cab for your tractor?

good luck charlie

i have a cab for my 2210 tractor or did you mean the skid steer? I would get a cab for the skid steer.

I'm not sure what vertical lift and all that is? What are the different controls that different companies have for the loader? i hear some have foot controls and others have controls on the sticks.

What about a CAT-247 or ASV-RC60? Tracked machines that have good lift, lots of power, and are really smooth.

I have used the S185; it is a nice machine.

Using the CAT-247, I really liked the joystick control over the foot and lever setup on the Bobcat(it is an option on the S185). Also, the ASV track system CAT uses has a torsion bar suspension between the chassis and the track system; it is like riding in a Cadilac compared to the bouncy skidsteers.
