buying out of state

Dave. Im the guy with the 500 mile away quote. The price is "Cash out the door" on both tractors. I know how to price the tractors with and with out financing. Good thing is my local dealer wanted to get close to the other dealers price. I understand that dealers need to make money, used to be a small business owner myself but not a $4000 difference.

Sounds like you are a careful shopper and compared properly. That is actually sort of rare.

Dave. As someone else reported herein, you sound like the rare dealer and I would gladly drive a couple hundred miles to buy from you simply because you are interested enough to be on this fourm and educate yourself not only on your product but also on your prospective clients. I dont know how many times I go to buy a product, car, truck widget and know more than the person selling the item. No I do not know it all and do not pretend to know it all, I just try to learn as much about the product that I am buying, especially if it costs a few thousand dollary. You are an exceptional dealer and savy businessman. I think a dealer can be both and have exceptional service and make alot of money. Just my tow cents.

I know this is a old thread but I have a situation that I bet a lot of you guys have-

My original dealer went back to a repair shop only, he just could not afford the overhead for inventory and insurance. I bought filters and what nots from him but found another dealer 50 miles awy. Every chance I ws in the area I would stop and visit, pick up a filter or lynch pins, etc. anticipating today.

I need a backhoe and want a Mahindra with subframe. I went to dealer and it took him nearly 3 weeks to quote me $1K more than the next closest Mahindra dealer over 100 miles away that almost quoted me before the day was over.

Both quotes are for special order subframes and a 509 BH! :confused2::confused:

Where would YOU go??

I don't understand the other response, but I would go where you feel you have the best service. I want to give my business to a local guy only if he wants it, 3 weeks for a quote doesn't sound like wanting it to me. . .
