The toothbar will greatly improve the digging and earth moving capabilities of your tractor. With a long flat edge, the bucket is better at scraping things, like manure, sand, loading loose materials. When you put a tooth bar on, the surface area of the bucket edge is reduced so you get a lot more power per square inch. Think of it like this, you have a flat bladed shovel and a pitch fork, which one is easier to stick in the ground? The pitch fork! Same principle with a tooth bar.

Thanks for the explanation. Are toothbars usually expensive or tough to attach/detach?

Do you really own a Boss? Growing up our nextdoor neighbor had a 351Boss, not sure what year. I still dream about that car.

grant: boss did just fine on describing the advantages of toothbar, as to the price they are about 250 t0 300 depending on size and dealer. they will make digging easier. also if u get the right one they attach with only 2 bolts. get a good look at one at www. woodsonline.com.

Ford only made the "Boss 351" in 1971. The Boss 302 and the Boss 429 were both available in 1969 and 1970.

In 1972 you could get a near boss 351 by piecing together the hood scoop, spoilers and rear glass slats with the 351 CJ, but the smog equipment and the loss of compression in the engine limited the power to below the real boss 351.
