I’m proud to announce that the Skid Plate will fit all BX series (BX1500 to BX24), with any attachment installed (MMM, Front Blower or BH).

Skid Plate, once installed, never has to come off (Service or attachment).

The demand has been good for the Skid Plate. I will now cover the cost of shipping in the US & Canada. Price for the unit will be $160.00 US ship across America. For Shipping fee overseas, each request we be reviewed per location.

Now is the time to place our order. Please Email your Kubota model # to bird68@nb.sympatico.ca

Shipping will be with UPS ground, delivery should 1-2weeks.

I'd be very interested in knowing how the plate attaches and what it covers up. I realize it's hard to take photos underneath the tractor (and yours are good ones), but can you explain how it's bolted/attached?

Hi,

The plate is made of 1/8" steel diamond plate. It protects the weak spots on those BX (Transmission filter, fuel line/tank & the darn plastic transmission fan, which can break off the fan blade if your in the high stuff).

The transmission filter & drain plug can all come out, without removing the plate.
The attachment like the MMM, front blower can all be installed with the skid plate remaining. PTO shaft goes into the pocket door.

The installation of the skid plate (M-R) only takes 5-10 min to install. The original rear bolts are reused to secure the Skid plate in the back, in the Middle of the tractor two 5/16 holes must be drilled, in the frame rails, it’s an easy location & will not affect the frame strength.

It's a must have item, or else I'll cost a lot more.

There are more models of Skid plate & a new Front to Middle Skid Plate (F-M) coming out for different tractors, if interested please send your tractor model # by email. Pictures of the ,F-M coming out in 2 –3 weeks.
Thanks for asking.

Can you still reach the mid pto to mount the shaft? I would think your not going ot be able to get a hand in their now at all.

Isn't capitalism grand!

Good to hear from you Scrounger,

Ask & you will see.

With the Skid Plate, it makes it almost easier. The hole in the plate acts like a third hand holding the end of the shaft. One hand goes inside, from the opening on the side (see photo) to pull the colar, the other pushes the end of the shaft.

If you only could get the wife to do this for you, now that would be capitalism /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I'm concerned about drilling my BX frame. While you mentioned it is drilled in a spot that does not weaken the frame, it still is a concern to my engineering sensibilities. Can you fill me in a little more on where I'm drilling?

Thanks!

Here a photo of a BX tractor, showing the locations & size of the two 5/16" holes. These are the only modification on the tractor. This will only make your tractor stronger, by adding a cross brace to the frame rails.

Please ask away, I'm more than willing to help.

This is what can happen, if you have no real Skid Plate.

Oil filter could also be damage, by a rock, draining the oil while you are working away, until it's to late.
