BX 1830 fan belt change

Anyone done this before?
There is nothing in owners manual regarding a change .

Not on an 1830 but I have changed mine on a BX2200.

The propeller shaft has to come out, comes out from underneath. Not that bad a job just takes time. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Four bolts have to come out where the shaft attaches to the bottom pulley on the engine.

Anyone here ever use those link together red fiberglass belts? They are suposed to be good even for power transmission, and are a pseudo v-belt design.

I have never used one.

When I replaced the fan belt , a factory replacement was used.

As I do have the alternator kit installed , the belt was tougher to get on as it isn't exactly long enough to go on easily.

Sounds like what You are referring to would be the trick if it lasted well.
