BX 200hr club?

Probably going to jink myself, but mine is coming up on four years old and I have just under 440 hours. I did the 400 hour service this Spring. That was a big one with engine oil and filter, HST oil and filter, coolant change, fan belt adjustment, front axle pivot bolt torque check, greasing, and I can't recall what else - oh yeah, air filter and put in a racor fuel filter in place of the OEM under-floor-board el cheepo filter.

Anyway, other than I broke one of the rear "brake" light lenses, can't recall any repair items per se. That or I"m just getting too old to remember "stuff".

How do your boots look like on the front axle turnbuckles? Mine
are shot.

Last I looked at them they were fine. I see a lot of posts on them tearing, but so far so good for mine. I dont work in brush much, so that may help explain my luck.

Besides normal maintenance, put me down for a busted hydraulic line due to rubbing that I didn't detect.

Oh and Slim, my new boots are still in the bag. I gave it a quick attempt a couple weeks ago but couldn't easily dismantle the joint. Now it's getting cold!

I did it on mine it was a snap. First thing I discovered was that you can't put the jack on the axle it will bind the joints up.

I need to check that out on mine. Looks like it is the back hoe area....did you use the backhoe a-lot?

Cherokee, I am talking about the boots on the front axles/knuckles.

I just did my 200 hour on my 3 year old BX 1860. All went well except I broke the headlight assembly for the second time, and I am unable to install the new ($120) assembly--just won't fit right. So, I now have a headlight-less BX. Fortunately, my winter cab has good lights mounted up high.
