Today my BX22 passed the 100 hour mark and to celebrate, it started to drip hydro fluid from the middle of the tractor. I shut it down and started to look for the leak. It is coming from the small red vent at the top of the transmission and running down the case. I was using the tractor in low gear/4 wheel drive when this first happened. I was loading my truck with dirt and stones. The ambient temperature was about 95 degrees, however the tractor was not running any hotter than it usually does. I brought it back to the house and gave it its 100 hour bath and figured that I would look at it further tomorrow, when I am not so tired. Any suggestions what could have caused this? Almost forgot to mention, I was running at full throttle. I finished up the job at part throttle and it seemed to stop leaking. My first thought is that it was expansion of the hydro fluid, but my mind says, "why now, after 100 hours?". I will have to do a complete detail cleaning if I need to take it in for service. It has been up to its "elbows" in mud, clay, and dust. There was so much mud caked on the tires, that you couldn't even tell that they are bar tires. I will get out the pressure washer tomorrow and give it the final cleaning if the problem doesn't resolve itself.

I vote that it is just expansion of the hydro fluid due to temperature and some hard use of the loader. The temperature gauge gives you engine coolant temp but not hydrolic fluid. I worked mine hard several days this week moving some large piles of dirt and tree stumps that had been bulldozed up when they built my road. Temps were near 100. The engine temp never went above normal but the transmission and hydro pump got a noticable louder whine after an hour of so of use. Back to normal after an hour of cool down. mine has 155 hours

I think it is just the hydo venting but that is me; as Jimbrown stated. When I had my JD 455 I could not even touch my hydro housing on hot days.

If it is 95 degrees out the hydro will be up to 100 degrees hotter. So that is 195 degrees here. That is kind of hot here. Even if the engine temp is fine you do not have a temp meter on the hydro fluid. Plus the engine temp does not correlate to hydro temps in a linear fashion.

I would have gone to use mine today but the Bx22 is a diesel leaker for the next week. I got the wonderful fuel sending unit leaker last week! Nice mowing the lawn and smelling wiesel juice. I know when I moved my 85 yards of bank run to fill in my 16x32 inground pool the lines got VERY hot in the spring last year.

I know my hydro lines get VERY hot even when it is 75 degrees out. Try it again in the AM and see what happens.

It sounds like your oil level may be high and just boiled over a little. Check the oil level and see where it is at.
