Has anyone with a BX had trouble with seat belt retraction? I find that I have to "manually encourage" the retractor to pull the belt back in. Is this something that's adjustbable or does the unit need replaced? TYIA for any advise and commentary.

I've had my BX1800 for 2.5 years and it still works fine, how much dirt or dust has gotten in to the retractor? I know thet don't work well when lots of crud gets into them.

Umm...the machine is brand new (about 13 hours) and unless a gremlin dumped dirt in the assembly...

That's why I'm curious to hear if anyone has experienced a similar problem. My BX-2200 belt was operating very slick for the entire 128 hours I owned it!

Has Kubota improved the seatbelts on the newer BX's. I, as well as others, have complained about the "Constrictor Belt". The thing wants to cut you in half. I'm constantly undoing it and readjusting.

Sounds like a warranty problem. I haven't had any trouble except as stated by someone else, it can get a little tight at times when locked up.

Jim-- the belt postion on the BX-22 is a little different than on the BX-2200 and BX-1800 due to the higher seat, but it's not uncomfortable to me. Actually, the belt on the older machine was "more secure" feeling to me. (But I'm a strange fellow, as you well know...<G>)

Terry-- I think you're correct and I'm going to have to call the dealer. I've been a habitual seatbelt wearer since I was 16 (a good many years ago!) and anything that interferes with its operation is more than an annoyance to me. I want to talk to them about an extra-tight coupler on one of the FEL hydo lines anyway.

Now, if I could just remember to lower the ROPs every time when I pull her into the garage...sheesh!! So embarasing...hee hee

Jim,

I just replied to another gentleman with the same problem - you should read his post under General Forums, Owning - Operating, Finally Did It! Thankfully I am always going in slow anyway, because I have limited space and need to make sure I am headed in straight for the tractor to fit. Otherwise, I'm pretty sure I would be needing repairs!

I have 31 hrs on my BX22 and a few times the belt did not want to retract. I noticed on 2 occassions it had twisted itself inside the retractor. I slowly pull it all the way out and then slowly let it retract and then it seems to work fine.

Fixed!

I removed the retractor and sure enought, it was badly twisted inside. It must have been that way from the beginning. Works like it should now...<G>
