I have about 500 hour on my BX22. I have had real problems up to this point, but this is what I have now.
I shut the tractor off when I was done mowing last week and every thing just fine. Two day later I go to the garage to crank it up and go start the mowing again and it won't start.
the motoer turns over but it didn't start. So I call my dealer and he says that it is probably the key switch, I go the dealer ship and get the switch and install it and it still does not start.
I start checking things out and I find that the engine is not getting any fuel. I check the solenoid and it is not fuctioning properly. I call and get a new solenoid. I get home and install the new part and the tractor starts right up. So I start the delayed mowing, 10 minutes later the tractor quits and the solenoid case is very hot.
To finish my mowing I took the old solenoid and ground the end off of it and put it back on the tractor and used the lever on the side of the pump to shut it off. Does anyone have any ideas as to what has happened to my bota???? /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

I'm surprised someone hasn't replied with a better suggestion. But at 500 hrs, have you changed your fuel filter? If you do, you should be able to see how the fuel flows to that point.

Pull the wiring from the solinoid. Get a meter. Check to see if it is in the proper condition when the key is on. Can you hear your fuel pump (does it sound right?). Denfinitly change the filters if you haven't. If the solinoid is activated when the key is on, check to see that the voltage remains while you jiggle the wireing harness.

There would appear to be a wiring harness problem. As suggested start with a meter and keep looking for worn wiring.

You left out another word... there are at least two solenoids on your tractor. I assume you forgot to put the word 'fuel' before the soleniod.
Start the tractor and set the revs to the mowing speed and check the battery voltage with a known good meter. Shouldn't be more than about 14vdc. Higher than that and you have a voltage regulation failure. If the solenoid is getting too hot and roasting to death then it is over voltage. If there is a dropping resistor in the circuit it would fail high or open, so nevermind, that is not the problem. You can also check the voltage supplied to the solenoid if you want to with key on not running and with key on running. Again, more than about 14vdc is a bad thing.
This advise is worth what you paid for it. No money back guarantee.
All the best,
Martin

I have check the fuel filters and they were fine. Just for insurance I Changed them anyway. I talked to a friend of mine and he said he thought that Kubota put a timer in the circuit with the fuel solenoid and that might be what is giving me problems.

Don't know for sure yet but still hopeful that a fix is soon to be found.

There may be a timer in the glow plug circuit, not in the fuel solenoid circuit my friend.
All the best,
Martin
