BX 2200 Grease Fitting- Foot Peddle

The grease fitting on the foot peddle will not take grease. I took the fitting off and grease flows through the fitting fine. When I put the grease gun on the fitting I can not pump the handle, regardless of how much pressure I apply. The foot peddle is slow to react and stop the tractor when I take my foot off of it.

Any ideas??

Your pedal pivot has probably gotten a bit of moisture into it and has a thin film of rust on it, the bushing clearance was probably so tight that it would not take grease from the get go. I had the same trouble on my BX which was one of the early ones with no grease fitting at all, after installing one myself I found that I still couldn't get grease into it until I removed the pivot and polished the shaft and honed out a little material from the bushing. You will have to remove the floor pan in order to get the pivot off the frame, however if your machine is fairly new I would get the dealer to do the job for you.
