Kubota BX 2200
Hello,
I just got my new BX2200 this Tuesday. It has 3 hours on it. Today after mowing for about an hour, I noticed some fluid spitting out on my leg and the screen cover which hides the battery was covered with some sort of fluid. I immediately stopped to check out the problem. The battery and the entire inside of this area was covered with a brown fluid. I parked the tractor in the garage and let it be. Later on I started it up and tried to raise the 60 inch MMM and it would not move. The entire PTO handle that raises and lowers the deck moves freely. The dealer was closed today. Any ideas what might be wrong with this new tractor? I am new to tractor ownership so I'd appreciate any comments. Thank-you in advance.

From your description it sounds like you may have a loose fitting in your hydraulic system. Do a quick check where the most oil has collected.
The mower may not be moving up anymore because oil level is low from the leak. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif
Your tractor came with Super UDT. You should only replace oil with Super UDT or regular UDT. You can only purchase this oil at a Kubota dealer. /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

It sure sounds like a hydraulic leak. On a tractor with three hours on it, I would not not do anything but call the dealer Monday morning and let them figure it out.

I'm in agreement with Will, and I would guess it is probably in the power steering circuit. Let the dealer handle it.

I think it bears mentioning that hydraulic fluid can be hazzardous to your health at high pressure so if you don't know what you're doing you probably shouldn't mess with it! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Hi Kaz, and welcome to the forum!

I agree.. if your dealer is any good, they'll send someone right out to check it out for you..

It should clearly be under warranty, with only 3 hours on it!

Don't let it get you down.. these things happen..

Kaz,
I'll bet your dealer is on the problem like ugly on an ape as he probably screwed up. The dealer installs the lines for the FEL so if there is a leak there he did it and can't blame the factory. I have found that when my dealer is responsible for the screw-up they are on the problem right off.
Good luck and you will like the machine once the lines are tightened and more UDT added.
