I would like to ask BX 2200 owners which tires they have on their tractor. My dealer says 80 percent roll out of his shop with the "bar" tires. He also assures me that they will not tear up the lawn, if not used in 4wd. I am a bit confused on which tire - a2, turf, etc? I will be using the tractor mostly for mowing 5 acres (some woods) , grading long driveway and snow removal in the winter. Also any ownwers comments about the BX 2200 tractor, good or bad would be appreciated before purchasing mine later this month. Thanks for suggestions!

You will love the BX2200. I have had one for about 1 1/2 months now, and all I can say is it is one workaholic. I have had the box scraper filled, it still digging and going. Okay, it does like to dig with the tires also when I let it get to that point, but the engine has never shown any hesitation. And the dang thing is pretty fuel efficient.

I have the bar tires, lots of dirt and no grass right now..

Helimark,

You forgot to mention something in your post, when your box gets filled and the BX tires start "digging"...? They are pre-scarifing the ground so it can be loaded easier /w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif

There is a discussion over in Kubota Owning, thread BX Tires. Fishman is going through the same decision process. Since you intend to do grading work, I would think the bars… But, as always, there are exceptions. Don't know how soft those 5 acres are, if the bars would leave marks, or how much you care if they do.

If concerned about turf damage, could always go with the turfs, and have a set of chains for when-needed. Or, go Del's route, and have a set of both tires /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif. I myself would like more traction for ground-breaking tasks, but haven't decided whether to go with chains, or second-set of rims/tires route. Can't give up the turfs totally…. Nothing grabs asphalt like the turfs for those late night neighborhood drag races /w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif.

As for comments about the BX in general, run a search on this forum, you'll find we got a lot of happy (might say, even fanatical /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif) owners. Along the way, we have discussed the snow removal and grading issues you mentioned, along with more mundane issues as the cup holder.

With my lack of knowledge on using the box scrapper, I lately have had it at to much of an angle. Learning alot on how to use it and have done a pretty good job of leveling an area of my property. I will now leave that part alone as I am sure it was pure luck and nothing else.
