Hi I am new to this place but have been a long time reader. Here is the problem. My father-in-laws BX 2200 with 12xx hours on it. Started leaking/seeping gear lube at the steering pivet points for the spindels and also started clicking(A very severe clicking at that.) when in FWD and wheels are turened. So I pulled the spindels off and found a very small amount of metal dust in the gear lube. But all the bearings from the lower part of the spindels to the upper part seem to be in great shape. So I pulled the axl out of the machine and and pulled out the pinnon and carrier, and all the bearings also seemed to be in great shape. Gears all seem to have normal wear. The u joints on the front drive shaft are good as well.

Any suggestions on what could be causing the clicking?

When is the clicking occuring?
If the ground is rather dry, or if on a hard surface, there is definitely more noise that comes from a front end when in 4wd.

It happens whenever the wheel is turned and in FWD. This is a very loud click that can be felt in the steering wheel. It just started doing it all at once.

My BX22 (same tractor as yours + backhoe) had a strange click. I traced it to the plastic shield around the u-joint just aft of the front diff. It's held in position by one screw and can be easily dislodged by something. When this occurs, the shield rubs on the u-joint with every revolution of the drive shaft. Click-click-click. Simply pushing the shield back into position solves the problem. Worth a look...
