Hey guys! I'm new to this forum, and a new bx 223o owner. I was wondering if the bagger was worth the money. I have about 3 acres and about 1 of it is treed. Does the bagger pick up and shread leaves well?

Thanks

I have one of these. They are expensive but it works really well. Today I did my leaves for 1 acre in 1.25 hours. Lawn was nice and green with no leaves. You have to overlap to pick up the small pieces...I will never pick up a rake again for leaves...well worth the money to me.

I also have a 2230 and was looking for info on the bagging system. I got quoted $1400 for it, which sounds expensive, but when you get right down to it a similar system with a trailer and seperate motor to maintain costs 2000 or more. It seems the biggest drawback is the capacity of the bags, true or not? If anybody else has any info to contribute, lets hear it, cause' the leaves are fallin'!

Here is one of my old posts regarding the Grass Catcher. Bottom line for me. The Catcher works great, the mounting and dismounting are horrible (politically correct statement /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif).

Capacity can be considered a pain especially if you have to dump far away but to me it still beats raking. Last year I had used my leaf blower to create a pile of leaves for my son. When he was done a few days later I decided to try and pick them up with the Catcher rather than spread them back out.

At that point they were about 8-12" deep and I was able to pick them up. I did have to go very slowly and dump several times, but I didn't have to rake or blow them to spread out /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I'm going into my second leaf season with my BX2200 bagger. It works very well as described, but taking it off is no casual matter. I bought an inexpensive transmission jack from Harbor Freight, and that helps greatly in the installation/removal process. I agree its an expensive unit, but I can't be without it.

I do have a question: which would work better with a bagger, regular or high lift blades?

Thanks for all the great ideas and advice here!
