bx 23 tire replacement

anyone looking to replace a front tire on the bx 23 let it be known that trying to find one locally is almost impossible, from a tire dealer or in stock at the local kubota shop its not gonna happen here. but you can order them and if you do order the rim with it for a few dollars , but make sure you get a pair or the side you need ,they are a directional tire {bar type} is the one i needed....

Why would one order the rim with the tire? I've had my tires off, patched them, and put them back on in just a few minutes using old fashioned tire-irons. It was not difficult at all.

In my area it was only another nine dollars to get the rim with the tire. I had a rip in it too big to patch. I figured another rim for nine bucks was worth it.

When I ordered my BX23, I followed some others on this forum and ordered the tractor with turfs, but bought the bar tires on rims for the winter or more serious work. It cost less than $300 all told, including loading the ags, and seems like a bargain.Last nite I converted my BX23 from lawnmower to loader/backhoe, and put the Ags on using the hydraulics to lift the machine and my air wrench to do the lugs. Not quite an Indy pit stop, but probably 20 minutes to swap all four, might have been less. I will say the most difficult part is putting the loaded rear tires on... they really are quite heavy! I used the stabilizers to get the perfect height to align to reduce the lifting. I agree with the idea of picking up the rim also- if you ever want to sell the baby, you'll have at least a full set that look like new.

What brand of of tires came on the tractor what brand did you order extra?

I know on my B3030 I had an R-4 tire that a piece of bamboo went thru and the tire was to bad to fix. The only place I could find a tire was through my local dealer and that was a tire and rim combo from the Columbus Ohio warehouse. Goodyear says this tire is on national backorder. Maybe that the same thing he ran into with the BX tire? Or maybe he is saying it just made more sense to pay a few dollars and get a rim so he wouldn't have to mess with it. The rims are pretty reasonable. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I put a piece of slate through my front tire the first week I had mine. I had dealer drop shipped to my house from kubota just tire was about $45 plus ups

then I couldent break bead on old one argh. I took it to closest tire shop thats a good 2hr trip shop and back.

brain storm next time I used hoe for the 4wheeler tire that neede tube short 2x4 and one tooth bing bata boom its loose flip tire over and repeat saved about 1 1/2 hrs.
