OK, I'm stumped. I've looked at it repeatedly since getting this machine not knowing what it might be for. Then a neighbor asked. There's an additional slot in the right control area. Possibly for a remote hydraulic control?

Sho nuff! There's an empty slot on the BX-24 too! Right behind the 3PH lift control lever there is a slot with no lever, no decal! Never really noticed it before. Wonder if this control panel is used on another model with another control?

Looks like the cruise control on the 1830/2230 from the other model pics. I have the 2350 as well...blank.

I noticed it as soon as I got my BX and am waiting for a good idea to come to mind for something that I can put there.

Well, I decided to call my dealer and his initial response was .. WHAT EMPTY SLOT. Soooo. I guess I'm not going to get much help there. I don't see any suggestion underneath as to what might go there. I can't imagine running a remote from the back of a BX.. but that might be what they had in mind.

Could be for a rear hyd connection like a hyd top link. I wish I had a hyd top link.

Take a look at this pic

The levers on your right side should be, rear/mid PTO selector, PTO speedcontrol and 1/4 inching valve control for implements

That is incorrect. The levers on the left side are pto mid/rear/mid-rear and pto engagement. The levers on the right are 4x4/hi-low gear/hydl lift-lower control. The empty slot on the bx1830/2230 and 23 was for cruise control. Maybe the intend to install this on the bx 1850/2350 and 24 series down the road.

Maybe an e-mail to Kubota can answer this question.

I'd imagine that it's the same part as on the BX23 and it was a cost-savings to use it instead of redesigning and remanufacturing. Or if it's not the same one, maybe the cruise was still supposed to be there when that part was originally designed and someone forgot to update it when they moved it. :)

My older bx has a picture of a hydraulic cylinder on that empty slot. Like for a toplink I guess.

I imagine it is for rear remotes. If you don't have rear remotes, you don't have a lever there. My L4400 has room for two. I have one set of remotes so one slot is used, the other is empty.

When the first BX came out, Kubota had not considered cruise control. Quite a few of us e-mailed Kubota re. cc for the BX, and as an afterthought, they designed a cruise control that could go in that slot (Kubota Parts item No. BX7340). There are others who have put control for rear remote in that slot. When later models came out, the cc was redesigned and put in a reasonable location.

I'm not sure about this, but it seems like I read somewhere that when Woods first came out with the BH6000, they moved the seat belt to that slot when doing the seat retrofit. Again, this is one I vaguely remember, and am not at all sure of the correctness. In any case, that was not what KUBOTA originally had in mind for it.

Those European BX's have a couple features that would be nice for our north American market.
I really like that telescoping steering wheel, seems it would make operating the BX much more comfortable and that high reach grass catcher looks neat too.
Wonder why they aren't offered here?
Conversely, can't say I like that bent ROPS.
On my BX23, the female seatbelt connector comes through that slot. I was told that was because of the limited clearance between the swivel seat and fender.
And if I remember correctly, the older BX's ( 2200, 2230) that is where the cruise control lever was installed.

Think I remember seeing a hard sided bagger for the BX in europe that would raise up and dump with a hydraulic cylinder.

The empty slot is for the BX7326 auxilliary valve package - two circuits. It will flow 3.7 GPM total (at rated engine speed) with a i778 PSI relief.

This is intended for the BX1850 and BX2350 - earlier transaxles are packaged differently, so I don't think it will fit.

Now you know

After doing some investigation, I agree with Clipper. :)

Kubota BX options include hydraulic valve kits available for both front attachments and up to three rear remote valves.
