BX 24 -3pt hitch. Why no pins?

In my experience, its always the $1 part that holds up the $1000 project!!

Luckily I went to set it up last weekend for use later this week and next weekend. Had I waited until time to use it I would have been pretty steamed.

Well after finally successfully attaching my landscape rake last night I notice 2 things.
First, I have no idea what the proper way to do this is. I got it on, but I am pretty sure it was supposed to be much easier than what I experienced.
Second, I will likely want to look into the quick hitch attachements. The manual way was for the birds!

After messing with trying to attach a box blade a few years back on my BX2200, I ended
up investing in the Pat's quick change.

Had wifey actually known there such a thing she would have bought it for me. She was tired of hearing me express myself.

The quick change is now on the new tractor.

If you get one get a draw bar to drop in it when the 3 pt has no attachments. The neighbor guy likes to ride there when we are working around the neighborhood.

Once you've changed implements a few times, you'll find the right technique for doing it. Every implement is a bit different so its up to your ingenuity to figure out the best way. With the landscape rake, there should be a little jack leg to keep the 3 point frame propped up in a horizontal position? If you dont have that maybe you could use an old crate or something strong enough to hold the weight of the frame. I try to store all of my implements on a smooth horizontal surface. When I back up to the implement I get as close as I can and get off the tractor. I leave the tractor in neutral with the parking brake off. My 7100 is light enough to be able to roll it back and forward so thats what I do, I line up the lower arms and pull the tractor back until I can hitch up the lower pins. Its easy to connect the top link and other stuff after that.
Some other folks here have made lovely heavy duty dolly carts that they store their implements on and that is a slick way to store and mount the implements... I havent got to that level of efficiency yet!!

I'm not so sure about the quick hitch myself, I dont have one. Seems like a good idea but you still have to get off the tractor to attach PTO, top link and to tighten the sway adjustors on the lower arms so I'm not too sure just how "easy" the quick hitch is...?
