Pit..... You may want to check but if you purchased it out of state... and if you can pay the delivery guy seperate.... I dont believe you should have to pay st sales tx. Same thing as mail order at that point.

Nothing wrong with a good deal but I wouldn't blab to your local dealers to much, since they will be the ones you rely on when you have a problem. I saved almost $1000 on mine by going to a dealer 60 minutes away instead of 20...but I also know enough to go back to him for stuff I need.

i've become more self sufficient mechaniclly because of this- they charge about $100 an hour for mech work- i do all my own maint, my own welding, and any other things i can figure out with a service manual. Over the years i've learned to shop on line, the net has made the world a smaller place, and helped to consumer to see what things should cost. Like i said earlier i don't mind and believe that people need to make a living, but i feel its not my job to finance their high life styles by overpayng. I also understand the guys up here may have more ovrehead- big ny taxes, high morgages on their buisnesses, high fuel costs ect... but i still cant see how this adds up to a 3000-3500 difference in price. The thing that really gets me is their arrogance when trying to get a good price- one dealer, a kubota and new holland dealer basicly said that a 17000 deal isn't really that big to him and that the price was the price, take it or leave it- so i walked. I was there today getting some kubota orange paint (12.50 yikes)(welded some hooks on my 1500's bucket) and they didn't even remember who i was.- so i don't think they will even remember if i need something done. Anyway the truck will be here tomorrow at about 11am, gonna be fun ripping up the woods with that BH..

I'm surprised you couldn't find a better price than that. I got mine at Emerich's and his price was very good. I got the everything you got minus the canopy and work lights, but I got a tooth bar, block heater and hooks welded on the bucket for very close to what you got yours for. This was October 2006.

you price looks very comparable to what I was quoted from a dealer that was miles and miles away. He was by far cheaper than any dealers around Pittsburgh. There was thousands of dollars difference between here and the other end of the state. I definitely agree that shopping around and the internet you can get a much better deal than the prehistoric pre-internet days.

Hey Archery nut- nice buck!!! I live in an archery only zone- no guns= big bucks.but i gotta say thats a giant!!! I get out almost every day in november- morn or afternoon- we get to take unlimeted does and with our extra tags 3 bucks, and the deer are so thick here we usually tag out---I think with the $ I spent on my new toy (bx) that the new mathews is going to have wait....

That was last years buck from Saskatchewan. Biggest buck of my life. Scored 158 P&Y. I can't even guess what the live weight was. I just changed the avatar to my dog instead of my buck as you were writing that message.
I have heard great stories from NY about the big bucks. Ever need helpo getting rid of those pesky deer, I hve bow and will travel. You find the occasional big one around here but they are few and far between. Most people w/guns are just happy to see a buck.
I live near Pittsburgh and we can get a bunch of doe tags over the counter, so I fill the freezer with those ones. I have been noted as having sporadic attendance at work during October and November.
Funny that you mention the Mathews, about 3 weeks ago I got the new Drenalin. What a bow, just ridiculous. Fast, quiet, forgiving. Don't know what Mathews is going to come up with next to top this one. Put it through the chronograph at the local archery shop and it shot 320 fps. I also have the Switchback XT and I love that bow, didn't think it could get better, until I got the Drenalin.

I stuck another pic of the buck in my profile.

Archerynut- I'm lucky or unlucky, it depends on how you look at it- was a PD but broke my back on the job in 4 spots 2 yrs ago- they fixed me up pretty good,(2 18 inch titanium rods, 4 screws and 2 plates) and now i get basiclly my salary for the rest of my life-that means Oct-Dec i can hunt when i feel like it- depends upon how bad the back hurts- i can still bow hunt, but need to crank it down to 50lbs- send me a pm and if your ever in the hudson valley in the fall give me a ring- i have permission on about 300 acres of suburban land (10 houses and one large 200 acre piece) - the deer here are just insane, but a 158 is just not gonna happen- i'll post a pic of a 120 we got 3 yrs ago as my avatar, just gotta look for it. It was only 6 pts but it was huge- 200 dressed.........they eat real good in peoples back yards, thats how i get the permission
