I notice that my BX 25 doesn't stop well when it is cold, Braking seems better once the tractor warms up. This goes for the foot brake which feels like it has pressure but I can push it as hard as it'll go and the tractor will keep moving, Also when letting off the forward pedal the tractor doesn't slow up like it does one warm. Is this normal?
Thanks

Wrong fluid. you using J20C when you should be using J20D?

Is the treadle pedal returning to neutral or home position. Not uncommon for grease joints in pedal assembly to be stiff when cold and not allow the pedal to return home.

I believe the pedal is returning but I will try to pay attention to that, It has fresh Kubota fluid. Is the braking system on these inside the hydro unit?

How would wrong fluid cause the problem of not stopping?

Because your tractor has a wet brake.

I think the BX has hydraulic brakes but not 100% positive.

If treadle pedal is not returning you should also here the engine and HST straining while applying the brake since you would be driving and braking at the same time.

I do not know if the brakes are wet or not on my BX2200 nor do I know if the brakes are different on the BX25 than on my BX2200. I do know this -- the brakes on BX2200s are the most worthless ineffective excuse for brakes on any tractor I have ever been on of many sizes and brands. My 1954 Massey Harris Pacer has ancient style mechanical brakes and they are superior which is barely imaginable... My experience with BX220 brakes is from 3 of them (one of which I still have) over a 22 year period.
Did your BX25 stop well when warm ??

Yes they work better once warm and used a couple times, I would not say they are the best brakes I have ever used but don't seem to really do anything when cold and by cold I mean winter weather. I don't hear or feel the motor straining and I don't feel its fighting the motor. Does RPM have any effect on the brakes?

I replaced teh damper and that did not help, Maybe made the pedal a little stiffer, I played with the adjustment on the damper and it does change braking some, Everything is clean and free moving. I am thinking maybe the spring that controls the pedal tension/return pressure needs an adjustment. The issue is mostly in reverse now and slow moving of the pedal. Full foward and let off quick tractor stops like it should.
