BX 25 in 10ft dump trailer??

Emergency Stop? Not sure what kind of dump trailer you use, but the sides are tall on mine
The only way that thing is going anywhere is if the trailer flips over and if that happens I'm already in a bad situation.

An emergency stop will send that rig over the top and regardless of how the incident started, you will be at fault for not securing your load. There was another thread here a few weeks ago with this exact scenario. The BX flipped up and over the pickup.

I have no trailer at all, just relating a real life experience from another member.

But let's just play along at home for a moment. Suppose that something happens (large truck pulls out in front of you, control is lost on some ice and a tree jumps out, you get the idea). You are in a bad way for sure. Are you in better shape or worse shape because you haven't secured your load? And once the investigation is done, how will your wallet feel with the fine levied as such?

You don't secure your load for the hundreds of successful trips you've already made. You secure the load to minimize the risk, both physically and financially, of the next trip.

Guys, took some pics tonight....yes in the dark again. Anyway as expected, the BX wont fit without either the FER or BH hanging out over. I guess I will have to come up with something to rest the FEL on with the BX backed in.....I like her in that way more for some reason. Let me know what you think.

I think ypu made the right choice by going with the longer and heavier duty trailer.

No problem. Have the FEL inside, and hang the BH out over the back, where you can chain it to the outside back of the trailer. What do you have back there that you can hook on to?

I'm sure there is something back there to chain it to however it seems when loaded that way there is to much weight rear of the trailer axles.....it seems better loaded when she is backed in.

OK, is there something you can chain the backhoe bucket to over the front of the trailer, and with that arrangement, will the FEL bucket still fit inside the trailer?

I have a 14 ft trailer ( no sides) that the bucket goes over the box on the front like yours. I fastened a 2x12 across the top of the box and let the bucket sit on that. It doesn't hurt the box at all.

I don't tie the bucket down, but the tractor axles are tied down in all four corners.

I don't have a picture, but yours reminded me of how I do it.

With yours, just screw the 2x12 onto the box top from the bottom, and set the bucket on it. If you're afraid the bucket will bounce on the box, then put a strap to the trailer.

I think it would work fine.

OK, I did die, and went to heaven, and St. Peter sent me back with a new trailer... and a new truck!:cool2:

18' long, two 3500 lb. axles with brakes on both, and lovely ramps that slide into their own compartments underneath the trailer. Cost: $3K.

My old 5 X 10 trailer is so jealous!

The trailer I built handles it well.

Trailer bed measurements: 6' x 10' with a 2 x 8 pressure treated floor.

The trailer sports a 3500# axle assembly and 15" 6 ply tires.
