Kubota BX25
I now have almost 5 years and 1300 HRs on my BX. Little things are starting to happen like glow plugs not working.

All you old kubota hands; what seems to be the trouble free life of the BX and what little things am I now facing? I am starting to wonder if there is a planned obsolescence on them to entice buying a new one. So far nothing is of a magnitude that I have not been able to fix myself. I am becoming well known at the parts counter.

A guy a worked for some last spring has a JD version with 2300 hours and trouble free. It had been gently treated.

Mine has not been "gently used". I bought it to work so it has worked but not abused. Most posts on here do not relate to the hours over time I have been working mine. Seems 50 Hrs a year is the standard.

SeaBee, you and I are in the same boat. You've replied to several of my posts concerning the BX22 I have that has 1300+ hours on it. I've done everything that I can from changing all fluids and filters, cleaning the strainer, to adjusting the valves, replacing propeller shaft cv joints, boots, hst fan, checked all glow plugs, shimmed the FEL relief valve. All this in the last couple months. I remounted the backhoe and now I'm chasing and replacing 13 year old leaking hydraulic lines on the backhoe. The first ones I had to replace were the pressure and return lines to and from the tractor to the BH. Tonight I'll be replacing both swing cylinder lines.

The previous owner of this machine used it hard from 2002 to 2013. The four hydraulic lines I've done have been relatively easy to replace. I dread day when I have to knock the pin out of the base of the BH boom to replace any of the lines that run inside the boom.

My fathers BX 23 has about 650 hours on it, he is not particularly gentile or even diligent about maintence. He bought it used with about 200 hours, maybe 5-6 years ago. Besides the stuff he broke due to his own doing, it has been bulletproof

I have had my BX 25 since 2009, and I have maybe 500 hours on it. The only thing that has gone wrong is it the 12 volt outlet has stopped working, probably simply because of the fuse. Will get to it as soon as I can.

I am very impressed by the fact that it starts even in very cold weather, as low as 30 below!

Oh, yeah, in the seat is starting to wear a little bit.

I only have 230 hours on my bx25 and have had no problems but a leak at the backhoe in a fitting. I have a ZT mower with a 21.5hp Kubota engine in it. It has over 3500 hours on it and I have done nothing to it but change the oil and filters. I think Kubota builds a long lasting product and if maintained, should last very long. I bought my bx because of the results I had with the Hustler mower and its engine.
