Is there a way to decrease the speed that the 3 pt hitch raises? I know I can slow down the speed to lower it with the dial by the seat. I am using (trying to use) a box blade and would like a little more leeway in the speed to adjust it as I am having trouble with it coming up too fast. There is a little slop in the handle as well, which may contribute to this? Not sure if that can be adjusted? I read the manual and did not see anything. Thanks for any tips.

No adjustment. If you can do the work at lower engine speed it will help some.

Only easy and inexpensive option is to feather the control or idle the engine down like spyder suggested.

Is there a way to adjust the linkage free play? I think that isn't helping me either.

My BX2360 has what they call a 1/4 inch function. If you pull the control handle toward your leg before you raise or lower your 3 piont hitch and hold the handle tight towards you when you push or pull on the control lever it will hit a hidden stop. As soon as you feel it hit the stop let go of the control lever. If you look down beside the control lever you will see the stop. You can also see it if you look up above the right rear tire.

I had to take mine off and weld extensions on to the tabs that were there. They were to short to hit the control lever. It is also adjustable. I am sure others that know about this will chime in. There is nothing in the manual about it.

Yes he should have the stops you are talking about. It might be someone remove the bracket? I just looked at his parts list and I couldn't find one in there. I guess the ? now is did his even come with one.

That doesn't sound like something on my machine. It's a 2005 2230, so maybe they didn't have them then? I will look tonight after work. Thanks

I have a BX2230 also. As Oldnslo said, instead of yanking on the lift control, if you can carefully and slowly raise the control to find the exact point where the hydraulics start to apply lifting force to the 3 point, you can "feather" the lift motion quite nicely. Same thing moving the control in the other direction to lower the 3 pt. You can't do it on the go, you have to stop and do it carefully, listening for a bit of noise signaling that things are about to start moving. I find the stopping to adjust is a minor inconvenience but well worth it in terms of results, and often do the same thing with equipment having position control simply because you can get a more precise blade placement. I've done quite a bit of blade work with the BX and find it is pretty easy to make these small up or down adjustments if you're just patient and take your time with it. This is something where improving the skill of the operator through practice pays a big dividend.
