Havent done it yet, but I'm figgerin on installing a seat with shock absorbers on my bx to stifle the kidney juggle i'm getting in the back field. I'm gonna see if I can do it this weekend and if I'm successful, I'll post the pics. The seat I'm looking at is at Quality Farm and fleet, about $150.
I installed the Northern Tool 17494-b966 seat in my L3450 over two years ago. It has both a spring ans a shock absorber. There is an arrow on the seat back and a fixed arrow on the mounting. You just turn the knob unil the arrows match to adjust the spring, then the shock absorber does most of the work. The only problem is when you push the petals hard, the seat will rise up. I have also seen a similar seat at the local NH dealer. NT prices the seat for $96.99. I can mow my field in the next higher gear with out any problem because ot the seat.
Jon, did the aftermarket seat give any more leg room? I have only had my BX for a short time and may get used to it, but I was looking at a way to move the seat back a bit further.
Thanks for the input.

Rich,
Using the 2410 seat on my BX did not create any additional leg room. If you want more leg room, you would have to move the seat back on the current seating frame. It may require some fabrication work.
Did the 2410 seat mount the same as the BX2200 or did you have to change anything. I'm also interested in upgrading the BX seat to a high back. Could you advise the difference in the back heights. Thanks
This is what my dealer did for me to replace the standard low back BX seat with the seat of the B2410. They drilled 2 holes in the bottom of the B2410 seat and installed nut inserts and then bolted that directly to the seat frame of the BX2200. No seat frame modification needed. So far, works like a charm. Sits a couple inches higher then standard seat of the BX which gives me a little more stretch legroom & about maybe 4 inches higher(?) seat back. Now, if they could only get the suspension seat from the ZD on the BX and mount a color TV on the hood........
