Great Little Tractor for Homesteading
Model Year: 1992
I purchased this little beauty well used (over 4000 hours) and am amazed at how reliable it is. So far I have only had three issues with the machine---a hydraulic line leak, a fan blade bearing squealing (I should fix that some day) and having to bleed the heck out of the fuel system after running her out of diesel. Can't really blame the machine for that one. The shuttle shift is all gear driven which can be a little hard on the user sometimes (getting it in gear with a load hooked on or holding the tractor steady while changing gear under load) but works fine overall. Having eight gears forward and reverse is nice. The engine starts first revolution every time regardless of weather. Due to the high hours there is some smoke for 30-45 seconds then it clears right up. I pull a 5' brush hog, finish mower and box blade as well as a 6' angle blade, the tractor handles each very well and I never have to rev the engine past a comfortable 2000 RPM.
Pros: Reliable, simple to operate, plenty of power, parts readily available.
Cons: For a used machine, none so far.
