BX Coolant Flush - revisited

Hi Folks:

Sorry for resurfacing an old topic...but, I have read this post:

As this is from 2006 - just making sure people agree with this approach, and is there agreement on using anti-freeze designed for aluminum? (per the post)

I am changing/flushing coolant at about 175 hrs...or ~3 seasons...

Thoughts?

I don't agree with some of the stuff Yankee listed. Notably, I won't drain coolant from a HOT engine.

Was a couple of hundred hours ago, but I just drained old coolant (pull plug or just take off lower radiator hose). I refilled with prestone flush and water, ran it up and let it cool down. Drained it again and refilled with distilled water, ran it up and let it cool down. Drained it again and put in the antifreeze.

I used plain (green) antifreeze, as that is what was in it. I always mix anti-freeze with distilled water, but I might just be a little ****. At least it's cheap (unlike many of my other obsessions)...

I always use NoRosion in the radiators of all my vehicles.

The coolant stays cleaner longer.

I've read distilled water is better for the block/radiator than tap/well water.

Just did a little reading on 'Norosion'. Looks like a good product.
