I have a problem with the plastic dash panel on my BX 1500 that I haven’t seen mentioned anywhere.
The plastic dash panel, which is installed with double sided tape over the warning lights and around the temperature gauge and low fuel-warning indicator, keeps popping loose.
It seems to me that this part is a little large for the area it is designed to fit into. If I force the ends down, it bows up in the middle and if I force the middle down, one of the ends will eventually pop up. I removed this panel and sanded it slightly around the edges, which seemed to help some after it was reinstalled.
My dealer ordered me a new one under warranty. I am hesitant to try installing it because while at the dealership picking up the new part I went out and looked a two other BX 1500s on the lot and both of them had dash panels popped loose on the ends. It seems this is a manufacturing problem with the parts not being sized correctly.
Has anyone experienced this with their BX and how did you correct it?
