Can someone post some pics of how they installed the draw bar on a BX. I picked one up at TSC and I'm not sure of the part to buy to keep is stationary.

Thanks.

Not a box receiver but the long flat draw bar that you can put a ball or hook on. Basically looked like a flat bar with a bunch of hold in it.

By stationary, do you mean so that it does not rotate? My tractor dealer fabbed up this little device that slides over one end to keep the drawbar facing up, I will grab a photo if I can tonight for you.

What are you moving? I used my drawbar when I first got my tractor but frequently my BH or Bagger is on when I move my boats around and don't want to go through the trouble to remove them to put the drawbar on. I picked up one of those clamp on hitches for the bucket and love it. I have an 18' CC that weighs around 5,000 BMT with a good 300 pound tongue weight, with the bucket clamp ball I can pull it out of the garage and put it back in like nothing. I love it, plus it is on and off in seconds.

Thanks for the heads up. I've never seen it before but it sure looks like it would work to keep the 3 pt hitch drawbar from spinning.

Amen to AMR's suggestion. The bucket clamp-on is a great way to go.

Interestingly, the product is no longer available with a ball on the end; only a post. This prevents closing the trailer latch. My suspicion is that somebody tried to launch a boat with the previous version and when the center of gravity moved past the trailer axle the front of the tractor was raised off the ground. I believe the product can still be purchased with a 2" receiver which will allow one to latch the trailer but I can't see a reason it would be necessary to do so. Gravity works fine.

For the record, I've pulled around my 5x10 trailer with a yard or so of mulch on my bucket and I didn't like it very much. I felt out of balance when pulling it over any undulations.

I would shove a boat around, like, a few feet with this type of rig, but as the past owner of a 5,000# 22' Bayliner, I can tell you that isn't a light thing. Not tongue load, mind you...I have no doubts a BX can handle that. It's the other 2.5 tons. Putting that type of load on the front lip of a bucket hanging way out there in space? Scares the crap out of me. Simple COG thing.

But my world has hills and bumps. On the flat, I guess it'd be OK. God bless any fool that tried to hold a boat on a launch ramp with a ball in the bucket.

If one can't fab the drawbar clips, AgriSupply usually has them cheap.

I just drilled a hole in my bucket edge for a trailer ball ... easy on, easy off, real cheap. Pushing the trailer is MUCH easier than pulling it from the bucket. Keeping the tongue/bucket low helps a lot with stability.

Weld (or ask someone to) a small piece of angle or flat bar on top of the drawbar at one side. Do the same on the bottom of the drawbar on the other side. This will keep it from spinnning.
