BX Front Quick Attach Mount Questions

Anyone have the BX front quick-attach mount? I have only seen one post regarding the mount and it was by woodstock with a picture.
Do you leave it on the front of your tractor all the time?
Haven't seen one in person, only woodstock's picture. I assume there is a PTO shaft from the mid-pto to a gearbox on the mount, then any attachments interface with the gearbox?
If you want to use the MMM, can you just remove the pto shaft and leave the rest on the tractor?
Will other brand equipment interface with the mount other than Kubota brand?
If you just want the up/down, not angle, will the 3-way loader valve work, or do you need the 4-way?
It appears from woodstock's picture that you cannot have the brush guard on at the same time?
What is the approximate cost of the mount?

I can answer some of your queastions as I have a front mount that came as pasrt of the snowblower package for my BX 1800. The hitch is easily removed in less than 5 minutes with the exception of the drive shaft shield which is bolted on. I removed the hitch and left the guard in place when I mounted the mower a few weeks ago. I am planning to do the 100 hour service today and it looks like I'll have to either remove the shield to change the oil or use something to channel the oil past the shied into the waste recptacle. I don't know about competitors attachments but the front mount will accept a plow as well as the snowblower. I have a 4 way hydraulic valve on mine and can't answer the three way qusetion.

I have the front mount as well. It attaches/detaches easily and quickly. The mount could be left on when the MMM is used, after the front PTO shaft is removed. But given how easy it is to remove, I wouldn.t leave it on when not in use. Getting the front drive spline dirty, etc with summer "dirt" just makes no sense.

Also if you have a BX22, the grill guard must be removed to attach the front mount, since the front mount attaches to the frame member that the grill guard bolts on to.

I am not sure if anyone other than Kubota makes attachments for this mount. One nice thing is attaching the inplement to the mount is only a matter driving the mount into the implement and flipping a small lever to lock the implement in. Last is to install a small hitch pin to lock the lever in place.

I was told by the dealer that the 4 way valve is required for the front hitch hydraulics. I'm not sure why the 3 way won't work, but he showed me in the Kubota price/accessory book where it said "4-way valve required". If you do not yet have a tractor, ordering the 4-way up front is a lot cheaper that retrofitting it later.

They've covered your questions nicely and I'll chime in with my observations /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif. I recommend the 4 way for loader work as the quick dump is great. There are four Kubota units available for the quick attach that I know of (snowblower, sweeper, 2way & 4way blade). The grill guard swap is kinda a pain but not as messy as the loader valve from the loader. I REALLY wish Kubota would release a hydraulic valve unit for the quick attach that could be nicely placed in the open slot on the right fender. That would work for all but the 4way blade and hydraulic chute accy. (disc) which may be why they don't.
