BX fuel filter

Learned my lesson a few years ago, left mower deck on, locked in the "TOP" position when the under carriage filter froze up. Can't lower deck if 3pt can't be raised up, very limited space for a heat gun (lucky to be within 100' of an outlet).
Just added extra hoses to move my filter.

That was the first MOD i did to my BX23s when i bought it brand new in 2017. I installed the same unit. Changing the filter was never easier. I change both my fuel filters once a year just before snow fly`s. I got mine in a complete kit form already made up. Took only a few minutes to install it.

Just a heads up:
1) Put some grease on the threads of the filter housing and filter ring. It will come off a lot easier later.
2) DONT buy the cheap chyneesium garbage they are selling out there. The REAL kubota filter has philips head screws on the shut off valve flange. The junk chyneesium ones have the flange on the on/off valve rivited in. (JUNK, it`ll leak!)

I bought my BX fuel filter kit from Mike at BXTRACTORPARTS. Super nice guy, ships fast. (i do believe Mike is a TBN member here too)
Looks like he has 3 kits left, and on sale at the time i posted this.

I used to own a BX and added a Racor to mine. Much better.

The Racor isn`t much good (to me) when i can`t buy the filters locally. And Racor doesn`t have a complete kit either.
Kubota carry`s the complete filter assembly AND the filters right in stock on the shelf at the dealer.

Of course you can order a replacement on line, I just kept a spare on hand. I’m not sure what comes in a kit but all I really had to get was a few feet of fuel line and some hose clamps.

I had decided to go another route similar to dodge man and had a bit of a struggle. I wasn’t aware of this kit. (Or this guy’s site - I see some other interesting stuff.)

For others looking to upgrade their fuel filtering, this looks like a really nice option!

In my post above it did take some work to fab up a bracket to hold the filter. The kit would make it easier to mount.

True that. I fabbed mine from a piece of 2x3 box steel I had left from a project. Split into 2 Ls. Apparently didn’t pay close enough attention and it was about 1/8 inch too tight to put bowl collar back on, so had to make a slight modification. Can’t tell in my pic
