BX has skid plate, but still lost all the blades from the HST driveshaft fan

Actually, they make a rear, mid, AND front (what most think of as "front" is the mid, and there is another that goes even further forward).

Does anyone know what the difference between the brotech plates vs the bx expanded uderarmor plate? I don't really care about leaving a plate in place when mounting the mmm, I like the look of the bx expanded plate better. Any one have experience with the bx expanded plate? Thanks

I've had the opportunity to replace my HST fan as well, and this seems to be a common problem with anyone who actually uses their BX as a tractor vice lawnmower going back many years. There are plenty of good aftermarket and DIY solutions, but no good solution from Kubota, even on this year's updated BX's. Has anyone from Kubota, on this site or another, ever addresses this issue?

I'm starting to wonder if I should have bought a B series or maybe a green tractor instead.

I was reading about the BX fans on another forum and a poster said the yammer/JD has the same problem. Plus you have to do much the same routine to grease a CV joint.

Your BX will be fine, just get the skidplates(all 3) for it. The reason it's such a big deal is that on the BX, the engine needs to be moved to replace the fan blade.

I don't understand why Bro Tech or somebody doesn't make skid plates for Mahindra. I wish the manufacturers had used a cooler similar to the one on my Hustler Super Z, that vulnerable fan seems like a poor idea.
