BX Hood Rattle

Has anyone figured out a way to keep the hood from rattling at low rpms on the BX models. If so, a posted picture of the solution would be helpful.

I don't have didgital camra but ill try to explain what i did. First of all that drove me crazy also,so i drilled a hole under each rubber pad not on hood but on thin frame where pads hit, then i put 2 philup screws,so rubbers bottom on screws for a snug fit,i just have to aplly a small amount of presher on top of hood when closing and presto rattles history.

Vt,I asked our Kub. mechanic for some advice on this very thing.If you pop the hood and grap a hold of it with both hands right about where the Power Steering emblems are, and ever soooo slightly squeeze inward,by doing this it will reposition the the "ears" on the hood that are hooked by the latch.Worked for me.Once again,the metal in the hood is very thin,do not try to strong arm this thing,or you will have a funny looking V-shaped thing on top of your Tractor where the hood used to be.

Great answers - THANKS. I purchased a couple of the 1/2" rebber feet - like you put on the back of a picture frame or bottom of a lamp at the craft store. They also worked for me.

I like the rattle. When the wife and I are bored, we put the mattress on the hood and use it as our diesel powered vibrating bed! /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

Seriously, I just did the hood-bend trick, started it up, and the rattle sure enough is gone!

Now I have to break the bad news to the wife when she gets home. /w3tcompact/icons/frown.gif
