When the MMM is lowered the lever stays in that position. When it is raised it will pop back into the neutral position. Lift your seat and follow the linkage from the lever. If there is crud built up in there clean it out. Spray down the linkage with WD-40 and it should start working fine again. Work it back and forth after spraying it to loosen things up.
