Well, I made my first nearly fatal mistake the other day and though ya'll might want to hear about it so you don't make the same stupid mistake. --I had a full load of rocks that I had removed from our current driveway and was going to dump on the new driveway down the road. I put it in rabbit and took off thinking how great this was, cruising right along with a crushing load of stone. When I got to the edge of the drive and made the turn down, which is pretty steep right now, I realized I had it in rabbit and wanted turtle to back myself out. I stopped with the transmission and lightly held the brake and tried to shift into turtle....when the transmission hit neutral the BX rolled quickly down the hill and I almost pitched off the edge! It happened so fast with all that weight up front. I was nearly standing on the brake trying to stop it. Definitely would have been big trouble for both me and the machine had I gone over. So.....remember to shift into gear before you start down or up inclines of any significance.
Those loaders are fun, but they have the potential to inflict a world of hurt. At this point, I'm figuring it's just a matter of time before I'm bleeding no matter how careful I try to be. I just hope it's not too severe!
