BX Owners: What deck number do you cut grass at?

3" and the blades measure exactly 3". Tip: check your tire pressure before setting blade height /levelness.

I mow with the deck all the way up. It chokes the weeds the granules don't get and seems to help the lawn withstand drought a little better. My grandpa called it "Beer can tall".

When I had a BX I cut at 3.5 also.

The leveling screws for this will throw it off. One number is not the same on everyones tractor.

4 on my rough ground, mow about once for every 5 or 6 times everyone around me wastes fuel scalping their ground.

As a sidenote, I started putting 20 pumps of grease into each Spindle rather than 10 pumps every 10 hours. I changed my mower blades this spring it it seemed like I needed to put a lot of grease in before it started coming out the bottom of the spindles

That's a lot of grease. I have always done 3-4 pumps every 10 hours. Not saying you're wrong though.
My ZD326 has over 1300 hours on the original spindles, and universal joints for the drive shaft.
As far as deck height, I generally cut grass to 4" which is one mark above 4 on my particular mower.
