I was using the tiller this past weekend and the rear pto stopped working with the lever in the rear only position. When I moved lever to rear and mid it worked- and I finished my fall "plowing" that way. I wil call Kubota for pick-up and repair. Any ideas on what might be causing this?

Was tilling and hit something that popped the shear pin and stopped the PTO from working. It turned out that the spring on the PTO overrun cluch was not strong enough to reset the cluch. The dealer had to half split the tractor (split at the bell housing) and replace the spring - $600.

But why would the rear PTO work when in the middle lever position (Rear and Mid PTO together)?

Sounds to me as if there is a linkage problem. I don't think its a serious clutch problem, as the BX doesn't have a clutch! /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif I would let the dealer look it over...I'll bet it isn't too tough a problem to fix, especially since it works fine in dual mode.

Keep us posted though, it may help someone else, and besides, we're all curious!
