I just got my BX2200 with FEL, 60" mower, LP 48" Box Scraper and Kubota 40" Rototiller. I love it, but have one item that I have seen no posts on, and that is the seat position. I'm only 5'7" and the seat positition seems awkward. Down close to the steering wheel, my knees are bent and I feel cramped. If I move the seat back for leg comfort, I have to really stretch out my arms to do hand-over-hand turning and don't reach all the way back into the seat. I had a JD 425 and the seat relationship, combined with the tilt steering on it made it mach more comfortable. I'm either getting cramped legs or a sore back. Has anyone else noticed this or made any fixes? I would like to put on a seat with a taller back- similar to JD 455 so I can get more comfortable hours on the BX. Any comments are appreciated

I guess I have sort of noticed that but was too busy worrying about other stuff. I don't find it too bad for me but I just go for the good leg reach and live with the short arm reach.
Interesting observation though... Wonder why that is.

I DON'T THINK THEY DESIGN THEM FOR US NORMAL FOLK/w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif (5' 7" i have noticed the same on my b2400, although it bothers me most when doing a lot of fel work. steering is not a problem, but my short arms have to reach for fel lever. nothing is perfect.

I'm 6'5", 265 and while I have a long arm reach I have gotten comfortable with the somewhat scrunched seating position. I find it more difficult to dismount though as I seem to have to "unfold" myself. You should have seen me on my Craftsman LT. I really made that thing look like it was a toy!
My body size screams for a L3010 or so but my property and my wallet is better suited for the BX.
I put at least two hours a day on the BX during the work week finishing assorted projects. I am years ahead of where I would be without the FEL and attachments. I'm very much satisfied with the capabilities of the BX.

I'm 6'7" and around 250 (or as my wife would say, a round 250). I'm comfortable on the BX even with my size 14s. Only issue is that one of my buddies has threatened to make an extension for the ROPS because the top of my head is just a little higher than it ... /w3tcompact/icons/crazy.gif

I am 5'10" and a bit and 190 lbs, typical mesomorph build and I find the seating position just fine. I think I have the seat on the next to last notch. The only thing odd about the seat I have noticed is that it seems to tilt forward a bit more than I would like. I was hoping the springs would sag with time. Please, no stupid yellow seats on a BX. The BX you sit atop like a tractor, the 455 you straddle like a kiddy car, get used to it. The tilt wheel could help some shorter folks. Maybe you could find, make an extension for the steering wheel or one with a deeper dish to move it up higher. At 5'7" I should think the seat should be nearly full forward, maybe it is to far back? Good luck. J

The forward tilt does bother me. I think in time they will sag. If not, when I'm less busy I will look in to having the springs cut a bit.
