Snow BX snow blower MOD you might want to add.

I have concrete curbs on both sides of our driveway. They beat the hell out of my JD's Blower.
I didn't want this to happen to my new blower so I added the following mod consisting of 1 X 1 angle 10 inches long.

This keeps the side away from the curb and the front and rear 45's keep it from catching something.
Of course I had to paint if Brite Orange.

Woodstock,

You should have painted it bright orange II

That's the color for post '95 I believe. bright
orange is for older rigs.

Sorry I checked and didn't find a copy of the pics /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

However the mod is quite simple; two pieces of angle iron, one each is welded to the sides of the auger towards the bottom at about curb level, horizontal. The idea was to strengthen the sides of the snowblower and offer a wearbar of sorts for when you are running up against curb and gutter. The angle iron would rub on the curb rather than the side of the auger unit.
