I was wondering what holds the sub frame for the snow blower to the tractor frame? When you remove the sub frame, does anything stay on the tractor frame? I have located a sub frame that is used, but I want to make sure that all the pieces are there, and that none are still left on the tractor. I would hate to buy this unless it has all the parts.

There is a heavy black piece or bracket that mounts where the grill guard is. Its got 2 removable pins that hold the sub frame on in the front. The draw bar holds the back. Also there might be a few loops to hold the hyd hoses, they usually bolt on various places along the frame.

That's not the way mine works. The subframe is entirely connected at the front. It rests on the front of the tractor frame and is attached with two pins through (I believe) the same openings as are utilized by the MMM front assembly. There are also two beveled nuts that rest on the top of the tractor frame piece that need to be kept tightened to completely freeze the whole thing in one place. The only attachment towards the rear is the PTO.

Well I don't have a MMM and I do believe that on all the L series thats the way they go on. I was only speaking of how mine went on. Not sure what Junkman has for a tractor.

Junkman,
The front assembly for the snowblower and plows mounts as described. There are two pins that slide in the front mid mount mower holes on the front of the tractor. There are two bolts on the top with clamps (metal blocks cut on an angle) to keep the subframe tight.

There are two pieces that stay on the tractor when the subframe is off. One is the guide for the hoses to keep them out of the way and the second is for the mechanical chute crank. Both could be made easily, but I imagine they are pretty reasonable to purchase.

I picked it up today, but I didn't get the guide for the hoses. Could you send me a picture of yours so I could send it to the seller so he will know what to look for? Thanks for the information. I did get the crank handle. This snowblower doesn't even look like it saw more than one snow storm, the paint is that perfect. Even on the blades, there is no sign of wear. I will post pictures later on...... thanks again....

The attached shows the hose guide. It's just a ring with a notch cuttout to fit the hoses thru.
Part number is 70060-01609 if you need to buy it. $16.60 at tractorsmart.

This has nothing to do with the post. Hello to a fellow Hoosier, I was wondering what part of Indiana you are from?? I'm in Kokomo (A.K.A. Stoplight City).

I have a hydraulic front balde, and I am considering buying a snowblower. If I recall there was additional items required to connect the blower to the quick hitch, possibly a carrier bearing or something else. I recall this because my quick hitch was cheaper than the one required for the blower, or am I just confusing the need for the mid mount drive shaft ?
