BX starting rough

I have a brand new 2360....

When it was 24 degrees out a couple of weeks ago, I used 10-15 seconds of GP and it took about 7-10 seconds of cranking to start.

She was puffing smoke in various shades of grey and black through out the cranking process. After firing, she shoot and rattled as she came on line for another 3 or 4 seconds. It's quite a process.....

I found youtube videos of everything diesel from big d-9's to locomotives being cold started and they all look and sound the same way!!

It's the few moments of rattling and banging that surprised me the most. Kind of like awakening a dragon.

Me too, not used to the diesel beast being woken up. Mine will actually fire reasonably well, it's the 5-10 seconds after the initial fire up that is the array of colorful smoke, and the is it going to catch or stall out. After that it's great. How do you like the 2360? I couldn't fork out the bucks for a few more hp. As luck would have it, my 1860 was sold to me with the 243 loader on it. I suppose I have a similar machine other than the hp?

I like the 2360 so far. Real light before beet juice and 3 point weights.

We didn't get out snow storm so I didn't get to try out the plow yet.

I think the 2360 is a little wider as well.

Are you sure you are seeing the glowplug light on the dash? I went 6 months before I realized I was starting it wrong. Just barely crack open the throttle, turn the key to the first position and red engine light comes on. Then slowly turn the key towards start until a yellow light comes on the dash. Hold there for about 10 seconds the move the key to start. It should start pretty easy.
