bx starts, let go of key - it shuts off

My BX2200 started doing the exact same thing at various times. I just knew I would have to replace the shutoff solenoid. When I unplugged the solenoid, the connector just didn't feel right. Took an emery board and cleaned both parts of the connector and plugged it back together. Haven't had any more problems in 6 months.

hmmm.... just help me with what the shutoff solenoid is and where I can find it - the thing that "fixed" it last time was the unit that the key plugs in to; it pops out of the dash and unplugs.

I had the same problem. It turned out to be the fuse was blown and the fuse buss needed to be cleaned. Replaced the fuse, cleaned the fuse buss and it starts right up. This is the fuse that is under the dashboard.

Interesting is that I had sprayed water in that area to clean the radiator. Surely got water on that fuse area. So might want to cover those fuses with plastic bag before you wash near the battery.
