BX Temp sensor wire??

The little white wire at the front of the engine that runs to that mysterious harness with the white plug not plugged into anything, is that the temp sensor wire?

I haven't looked yet on my BX, but I will. Does your temp guage work? If it does, then it's plugged in, and is not dangling free.

Right. well the temp wasn't and it was dangling free but I recrimped it and it made no difference. Finally, I put a new plug on it and that confirmed, it is the temp wire. it is at the front of the engine, inline with the injectors.
