I have been looking at a King Kutter 48" tiller for the BX25 and they make a XB and a TG in the 48" width. They say for a sub-compact tractor that I need to go with the XB Limited CAT 1 unit, but it looks like some folks on here are using the regular CAT 1 units on their BX with no problems. I think I would rather have the TG unit , but want to make sure I won't have any problems.

What is the difference in CAT 1 and Limited? Is it bottom pin distance?

Just checking....thanks.

at first glance I think the top link distance is shorter for better lift.

The XB version is built to be a better "fit" for the smaller SCUT tractors like the BX. The BX is actually a true Cat 1 hitch, not a limited Cat 1, but due to the small size of the tractor, and the 3pt arms having smaller spread, etc., there can at times be some issues using full size Cat 1 implements.

The XB version will fit nicely, and lift good and high when raised. I have one, so I know this is true. However, others are using the TG and say it works fine for them. I don't know if they have any issues with how far it will raise or anything. Another member just bought one and says he's pretty happy with it. Maybe ask him about lift and stuff if you'd like - also, if the tractor feels light in the front at all if no loader on, etc. Here's his thread:

I think the biggest decision maker is if you will have issues with your angle of departure, or approach (if backing up)... Like an inclined ditch or driveway... Or going up ramps on your trailer.

On some attachments you can reverse the pins to fit a BX. It will not help with top link but they are cheap if you can find a shorter one.

I have the KK 48" on my BX24. It's a beast (heavy and strong) and needs ample front counter weight. But I am glad I bought the non-BX tiller for 2 reasons, the brute strength and also because if I ever trade up to a larger compact, it will fit that too.

I bought the KK2 48". My BX25D has not had any problems when using it. The BX25D doesn't act like it is back there. I did hit some mud and I think it dropped about 200 rpms but it just kept on tilling. I did help the neighbor out by tilling his garden up for him and he could not believe how well it did.
