Is there any difference in the width of turf tires vs R4 or bar tires ?

YES, considerable. Varies by brand of tire. You cannot change just rubber, you must change rims and rubber in combination. Wheel diameter proportions must be maintained or 4-WD will undergo stress, potentially fail.

Turfs widest 16", R4s 12," R1s narrower than R4s 10-1/2".

I have a BX24 with 300 hrs on it. Bought in 2007.

Frankly, I'm not sure it's worth the hassle buying rubber and switching. I bought R4's for my last BX that came with turfs from the dealer. Brand new on rims for $300.

My rear turfs are nowhere near 16" wide. I wear an 11 and my shoe is longer than the tire is wide.
