It took me 4 days to dig the hole for my above ground 32' pool 3' deep using my B3300su and BH77 backhoe actually the hole was and extra 2 foot all the way around for plumbing. I live in south Louisiana so there were no rocks just dirt and clay. Oh and all I had was the 12" bucket that came with the hoe it takes time but it got done.

In many parts of CA, it is less expensive to dig a pool by hand using day labor than to bring in any equipment. Especially when access is tight. 4-6 men with picks shovels and a couple of wheelbarrows can move a lot of dirt in a day.
Doing it with your BX is certainly easier than that.

The guy that put my fiberglass pool in used a small Bobcat excavator. No reason you shouldn't be able to do it with the bx, may take a little while. I would have used the backhoe to dig mine but they had a deal going on with free installation.
