BX2360, about a month old. Has had a good whine to the rear end since new. Now about 15 hours, it has not subsided any. I, thought, I read somewhere the older ones whined. Is this true of the new ones too, or do I have something to worry about? Thought I would check with the pros here before asking the dealer about it.

Thanks!

A certain amount of whine is normal. You will get more of it in high gear combined with low RPM, especially if you are under any load or going up a hill, for example. Try using low gear and see if it improves.

The whine is all part of the package.

Believe it or not most of the whining noise is Resonating through your Rops. I found this out when I removed the rops to put it in my Trailer. When i put the Rops back on I will cover it with 1/4" Foam at Ear level and see what happens

Yep, normal.

After I switched to SUDT I noticed the wine almost disappeared. A lot less noticeable than before.

Mine came with SUDT and whines. I have about thirty more hours before replacing it. I already have the SUDT for the change, but it is not the new synthetic stuff.

My BX24 whines (and has always whined) louder than the wife and kids do...but I enjoy it :D

Some whine is hydraulic...and some gear. Tractor gearing is low-tech compared to cars and is inherently noisier. As for hydraulic...got some SUDT2 coming...we'll see if it makes a difference...

Newer BX's come with SUDT from the factory. I did my 50 hr service over 300 hours ago and it makes absolutely no difference. Now, in cold weather operation is smoother.

I didn't see a line item for whine on the invoice, so I guess it's standard equipment LOL!

The ROPS comment was interesting. I wonder if the bottom of the bar, at the mounting point, is hollow. Fill it with expanding foam?

I just did the 50 hour service on my BX 2660 and replaced the hydro oil with SUDT2 which is the synthetic. I noticed less whining noise from the rear end. And the best part is the synthetic was cheaper than the other!!!!!!!

Nah, it doesn't whine much. Just put some generic cheap stuff in it. I did once, by necessity, and THEN, it will really whine.:D:D Long story short, drained and re-filled with SUDT.

Anxious to hear when someone replaces the fluid with the new Super synthetic SUDT to see if it improves things. Agree with Bota Bum, JT and the rest of the gang. The whine comes as a standard item, no extra charge.

I have a BX 25 with about 10 hrs on it. Whine Ahoy!;)

Anybody notice much foam in the hydraulic/trans dipstick hole after running? I have about 1" or so of foam at the top. The oil underneath doesnt appear aerated.

Yup. Always noticed that. I'd really be interested to see if the new Super SUDT II from synthetics has improved anti-foaming agents.
