Tires BX valve stem leaking air

Kubota tire valve stems. Been there, done that.

Mine were so dry rotted that one broke off when I tried to remove the cap.

Mine were so dry rotted that one broke break off when I tried to remove the cap.

Mine just did that. Right now my BX23 has the rear end sitting up on blocks because the stem broke off - all the air leaked out - and then beet juice starting draining out all over the ground.

Besides taking it to the dealer - how much of a pain is it to unseat the rim and get a new tire valve in? I tried forcing it in from the outside, but I think that's a no go. Now I'm thinking I take the tire off, lay it down on the ground (so the beet juice doesn't all drain out) - and the try to get my hand in there and push the new valve stem thru.

Breaking the bead is a real pita with hand tools I even went to trying the backhoe to use down pressure to break the bead,finally used the dolly leg on my 80,000 pound trailer , worked like a charm...replacing the tire valve is quite easy once the bead is broken and all you need to re seat bead is air

I had same problem with my BX24 with rears. metal part of threaded tire stem just twisted inside when I went to check tire pressure and leaked. I ended up replacing both stems.

took my BX24 rear wheels in to the local tire shop...
installed 2 new stubby valve stems... took 10 minutes and $10 cash.

They make a tool to replace valve stems from the outside. No need to break down the tire from the rim.
