BX vs B series Belly mower???

Jeff...I think I can clear branches asker than I can remove all the "dangers" in to woods on the ground. I likely will venture into un-cleared sections of land and will be enough to avoid larger stumpers/rocks, etc. much less to have smaller stumps/rocks and brush work to disrupt whatever hands from the bottom side of the mower. Extra inches of ground clearance and less vulnerable underside "stuff" on the tractor should allow work "off trail" into the woods. Today we marked our next trail project...though a ridge and slope that was logged 30 years ago and has quite a bit of "slash", 30 year old stumps, 10-15 year old Jack Pines, some but not a lot of rock and irregularities in the terrain. Plan on using a combination of a DR Brush mower, a HD brush saw, a chain saw, a Polaris Ranger and hopefully a CUT w/FEL and box blade...not sure what will serve which functions but will be a good learning curve. This particular trail follows a ridge for a way and then drops down and level out and will finish with a loop at our south west corner marker. Thanks Tom R

The Landpride RFM will cut tall grass OK forward and backwards. Just run full throttle/wide open for best cut. If it doesn't suit you then you can always make 2 passes with first pass raised a bit then next pass on the ground or raised a bit going out trail and dropped closer on the return trip, you know there's a lever beside the seat that will determine very easily how high the thing on the back is off the ground as well as easy adjust anti scalp wheels on the RFM. Forget box mower and think tractor.:cool2: May also want to not mow so close, with Kubota B model with FEL and RFM a trip on the trail can become just a trip on the trail and just happen to also be mowing while enjoying a trail trip. The RFM can be installed and removed so easy that one can remove it while out and about and then pick it back up on the return trip or after other jobs are done where the RFM would hinder the job. May want the higher HP B (26, 29, 32,33) if this becomes your plan. The 23hp would do a 4' RFM but bigger needs more HP, not as much/like the rotary mowers but still need more HP for larger deck. They do mow backing up and you get used to the length in time. With FEL and RFM it's pretty long. Also the FEL will punch holes in Vinyl siding with or without a RFM.
The FEL can pick the RFM up to carry it to places that may be a problem getting there with a RFM on the back plus FEL.

I bought a BX1500 last year and my single axle 5x10 trailer proved too small for the job. It was the length and load capacity that was the problem. The trailer axle was rated for 3k and the trailer plus tractor was taxing to say the least. I broke down and bought a 2013 16ftx72" landscape trailer. THe previous owner bought it and bent the gate. I straightened and reinforced the gate. It works great with my Kubota. I can move the tractor to optimize the weight distribution. and it tows great. I took a beat up toolbx off my old truck and bolted it to the trailer.

My 16ft trailer will fit my tractor with my 4ft bushhog when I take off my toolbox.
I would like to have gotten a 18 or 20ft trailer but I knew I was never gonna use more than a BX on my current piece of land and I got this trailer for 1500 bucks!

It would only fit (with Brushhog) if I put bucket up and over the front, I have never had need to do it , I think If I did , need to, I would back brushhog on first then disconnect from it , then drive tractor off and drive it back on forwards and put bucket on top of (over the hog) and that way squeeze in tractor without anything on threepoint hitch.
